Tips for a Successful Visit

Make your reservation early.

Our calendar fills up fast; submit your Reservation Request Form early.  Requesting a date in the fall or winter also gives you the best shot at your first pick.

Provide chaperones and students with name badges.  Name badges help our teachers and your students!

Dress for variable weather. The Southeast San Francisco shoreline can vary from hot to cool and is almost always breezy.

Have students store their lunches in their backpacks.   If your group is bringing lunches on the day of the fieldtrip, there are several picnic tables and seating areas just outside the EcoCenter in Heron’s Head Park. There is also ample space inside the facility should weather conditions prohibit enjoying an outdoor meal.

Arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled tour or class time. This will give you time to use the restrooms, check in, and help us stay on schedule. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may not be able to accommodate your group at your reserved time. If your group is running late, please call us at (415) 839-4963.
